Buffy's Frankenstein  
Okay, here's the 3rd installment of my Buffy Rogue's Gallery. Anyone remember when the Scoobies imbued Buffy with a joining spell and she turned into a bad-ass Super Slayer possessed? I sure do...and I have to wipe the drool from my mouth everytime.

I wish they explored that further actually. This illustration was kinda tough to do, and it went through a few revisions...but I'm pretty satisfied with the final outcome. A.D.A.M. was kinda intimidating to draw at first, but at the end of it he was actually really fun to figure out. Hopefully, you guys'll dig it too:

awesome! I check out Nautibitz's site and I love her fics. It would be great if you posted the drafts too, cause then everyone oculd see "the artist's process" as my art teacher says..

Oh my god, that is too fabulous! To say that season was so lame, I think that was my favorite season finale. I read a really funny scholarly essay that interpreted that season (and especially that episode) as an ode to matriarchal, socialist, pacifist utopian societies. Because, you know, there are so many of them on this planet these days...

Thanx J! When I first watched that season, I thought it was boring too..but then the writing got so bad in season 6 and 7 that when I went back and saw season 4 again, I just ended up counting my blessings for it.

That season finally was amazing wasn't it? I liked the anti-finale after it too, where they had synchronized dreams about the First Slayer.

Care to explain how that ep correlates to the notion of matriarchal, socialist, pacifist utopian societies? I'm not making the connection...but I really want to...!

I love it.

You know what's really great, though? At first glance, Adam looks like he's wearing a red and white striped tie. And I can actually see Adam wearing one. In fact, I think I will, every time from this day forward.

Great stuff. Super!Buffy looks incredible.

Was it already fixed? Cause, I just don't see the tie. I see a striped part but... o.O

Very cool pic, though the 'RPG round into doves' shot would have been even cooler. ;)

Thanx. No I didn't fix it. But I guess different people see different things. (The striped part his an open oraface in his flesh exposing his rib cage). I had to shrink him down so it's hard to see the detail around it.

As for the dove thing, I thought about that too, but I didn't think it would translate clearly as a one panel shot, on an illustration. People just would've seen ADAM pointing his gun and doves flying out of Buffy's hand. So I went with the bullets and the force field.

Ooh good idea...wait for it though 'cause I think [info]_taylor's makin' icons of all 7 of the Rogue's gallery. She made the last batch of icons out of my illustrations and she did a kick ass job of it too.

OOH! I can't wait to see them all! *peeing with excitement*.

I did feel kinda burnt after the Glory illustration, that's why I took a couple days off. But I'm just so into doing this Rogue's Gallery that I can't seem to stop. Hope the quality's not deteriorating. I'm trusting you to tell me if they start to though ;)

ps: fyi-people are already requesting Super Slayer Buffy icons. Just a heads up. But same goes for you too. No pressure to make any of these icons. I want you to keep it fun for yourself as well.

It's SO fun for me still...I'm finding it difficult to get motivated to do regular icons again! :P
I did an ADAM last night so the 'Super Buffy' is next! Thanks for giving me such great material to work with...the quality is excellent...no worries there. :)

That's really awesome... as usual. It's funny to me that you keep posting so much Buffy art because my boyfriend is in the midst of showing me the series (on the last season) and I was worried that the Buffy craze would have died down by now; it's really awesome to see that people are still interested in Buffy art though!

One question, why'd you change the bg? The one you have is good, but it seems like the one in the sketch is a bit more interesting.

Thanx. So your boyfriend got you into Buffy? It's usually the other way around. I don't know too many other (straight) guys that get the show. (But then again, I don't know that many people ;p) Ithink it's kinda wierd that I'm doing Buffy art too. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I just got season 7 and am re-watching it for the lack of cable access in my apartment. I haven't drawn them in so long, but also I think it's' cause I have so many Buffy fans on my friend's list, and I knew they'd get a kick out of it. Not to mention it's just great practice at drawing.

Speaking of drawings, your icon rocks. What is it?

I changed the BG cause the first draft I worked out had alot more space...and the composition ended uplooking really static. There was no drama to it. I also had another color scheme originally, (mostly comprising of silvers and greys to reflect this feeling of being in a sterile, modern laboratory)...but it just dulled everything and it wasn't working for me. So I went back and re-watched that episode and made the background more simliar to what was shown on the TV show. It also worked out nicely 'cause a lot of the BG color was similar to A.D.A.M's color palette, so it tied the entire piece together, giving it a warmer, more unified, feeling.

Or so I thought, at least. ;)
